Anaconda Cut
Anaconda Cut, like One Greengate, is bounded by the River Irwell, Trinity Way and Greengate. It was a relatively small, triangular shaped, site that needed to link the existing Greengate with the lower river footpath. A raft foundation and three basement levels were excavated through the Sandstone within a bored pile wall perimeter. Large props were installed at capping beam level to allow the excavation to progress to the lowest basement level. The 43 storey concrete frame was constructed at one floor per week with the unitised cladding following closely behind.
