Coachella Music Festival

We have worked on several international projects, principally with UK based Clients or Architects. This project for a new main feature to the Coachella Music Festival was particularly challenging as the structure was to be designed and fabricated in the UL and then shipped to the USA to be erected on site two weeks before the festival started. The form is a structural cylinder with a constant helical ramp internally. This leads to a viewing deck 18m above the ground and gives 360degree views of the festival site. The development of the structure focused on repetitive forms and simple details to allow the entire structure to be broken down and loaded within a standard shipping container. The design was based on current Eurocode standards and then checked against US National Building Code Standards for sign off by the local Engineer.
