Building Information Modelling (BIM)
DP Squared has a wide range of experience in using Building Information Modelling (BIM) and 3D software on a wide variety of projects from High Rise towers, building refurbishments to Bridges and sculptures. BIM software has been used on DP Squared projects since 2010 and our staff attend BIM courses and BIM user groups to keep up to date with the latest developments.
What is Building Information Modelling?
Building information Modelling (BIM) is the process of using a variety of software to model a project in 3D. This 3D model has data and information embedded into each element which can be analysed and extracted to aid our structural design. BIM enables us to work collaboratively with the other members of the design team through the process of exchanging models. Working in the 3D environment has many benefits:
- Collaboration & Coordination
- Accuracy & reducing errors
- Clash detection
- Visualisation
- Analysis
